Cleveland is where the Monsters play, and is their home. You guys should get used to the organization using it more and more every year.
Everyone needs to stop being so negative and realize what a great organization we have here in Cleveland. BE PASSIONATE BUT STAY POSITIVE! Cleveland is a hockey town and the Monsters embrace that and enjoy that!
See everyone on Opening Night! GO MONSTERS!
I don't think Cleveland is a hockey town yet, but on the positive side Monsters have gradually drawn more attention every year.

Granted, the change wasn't massive (understatement). It wasn't a complete overhaul on the design, but it was technically changed. The amount of money that would go into changing absolutely everything, including all merchandise would be astronomical. This year the STH jerseys have 'CLE' on them prominently, I believe.
One change at a time. No one 'lied' to you about a change, even if it didn't meet your standards. I kind of thought it would have been a bigger change, too, but this is the first time they are even incorporating the city into the name/logo, which is what they said they wanted to do during the end of last season. Completely changing a brand isn't something that is done quickly, easily and without breaking the bank.
Maybe a complete overhaul of all logo merchandise (to match the jerseys) would have resulted in a significant increase in ticket costs...just something to think about.
With any luck, the NHL lockout will help us get more fans attending games here and next season we WILL be able to do more. One step at a time. =)
