Guidelines for Posting (Updated 1/17/2008)
Considering the real-time nature of this message board (MB), it is impossible for us to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted. Please remember that while we do actively monitor the contents of posted messages, we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this MB or any entity associated with this MB. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by clicking the "Alert Moderator" button or by emailing webmaster@cavs.com. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this MB to post any material which is:
  • Knowingly false and/or defamatory
  • Inaccurate
  • Abusive
  • Vulgar
  • Hateful
  • Harassing
  • Obscene
  • Profane
  • Sexually oriented
  • Threatening
  • Objectionable
  • Invasive of a person's privacy
  • Or otherwise violative of any law

    You also agree not to:
  • Post any copyrighted material unless the copyrighted material is owned by you
  • Spam the board. This includes, but is not limited to, repeatedly posting the same or similar content or posting any identical message more than one time or in more than one forum. Or post pointless or repetitive messages only to boost post / karma count.
  • "Troll" the board. In Internet terminology, a troll is someone who intentionally posts derogatory or otherwise inflammatory messages about sensitive topics in an established online community such as an online discussion forum to bait users into responding. They may also plant images and data on networks that others may find disturbing in order to cause confrontation.
  • "Flame" other members. Flaming is the act of sending or posting messages that are deliberately hostile and insulting, usually in the social context of a discussion board on the Internet.
  • Register and utilize more than one account per person on these forums or assist (in any way) or encourage others to do this.
  • Abuse the private messaging system
  • Abuse the chat room. The terms of use also apply to the chat room. The chat rooms are monitored via chat room transcripts.
  • Post blatent and self-serving advertisements

Although we cannot review the messages posted prior to going live, and are not responsible for the content of any of these messages, we reserve the right to delete, move, or edit any message or thread for any reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s). We reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you. We also reserve the right to ban your use of this MB if you are held in violation of any of the above rules or of the spirit of these Terms of Service. We will be the sole and final judge of any disciplinary actions taken with regard to the Terms of Service.

    Signature and Avatar Policy
Due to the increasing number of large and bulky signatures on the board, and therefore, potentially longer page load time, we are implementing new guidelines for signature use. All signatures must take up no more than the following space:

Entire Signature Size: Should be no wider than 575 pixels wide and no taller than 150 pixels tall.

Entire Signature File Size: Should be less than 75 Kilobytes. To find out how large an image is, right click on it and it will show the file size.

Avatar Size: Should be 48 pixels wide and 48 pixels tall.

Avatar File Size: Should be less than 30 Kilobytes. To find out how large an image is, right click on it and it will show the file size.

If you signature / avatar does not meet these guidelines, the moderators of the site will erase or modify your signature / avatar.
